Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Vinus Joseph LeBlanc, 87, who died Monday, March 10, 2014 at his daughter's residence.
He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend William C. Blanda officiating the services.
Vinus was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church where he served as an usher for 50 years. He was an avid gardener who enjoyed growing his vegetable garden and sharing his bounty.
He is survived by his son, Jude LeBlanc and his wife Mona of Rayne; two daughters, Vickie LeBlanc Leonards and her husband Greg of Abbeville, and Debbie LeBlanc Houston and her husband Bobby of Breaux Bridge; sister, Rita LeBlanc of Franklin; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; eight step grandchildren; and seventeen step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maudry DeRouen LeBlanc; parents, Maurice and Edia Touchet LeBlanc; brothers, Clarence, Wilson and Huey LeBlanc; and sister, Agnes LeBlanc.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Wednesday, March 19, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
