Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 20, 2014 at a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Laurence “Taunt Gin” Harrington Vincent, 97, who died Monday, March 17, 2014 at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Keith Landry officiating the services.
She is survived by her two sons, Farrell Vincent of Cow Island and Melvin Vincent of Abbeville; three granddaughters, Annette and her husband, Sandy Meaux of Rayne, Cyndie and her husband, Mark Miller of Lafayette, and Tammy and her husband, Alric Delahoussaye of Breaux Bridge; three sisters, Wilda Duhon of Nederland, Texas, Betty Gaspard of Cow Island, and Electa Hargrave of Kaplan; five great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonce Vincent; parents, Clodis Harrington and the former Aurora Schexnaider; one brother, Allen Ray Harrington; six sisters, Alor Hebert, Nolia Broussard, Ella Mae Dartez, Zula Mae Dronet, Imay Hollier, and Estella Harrington; and her daughter-in-law, Shirley Palombo Vincent.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 from from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Thursday, March 20, 2014 from 9 a.m. until services.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital. Many thanks to her family and friends for the comfort and support they showed us during her final days of life and a special thanks to Randy and Mary Harrington. We are truly grateful.
