Abbeville—Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Abbeville United Methodist Church honoring the life of Daphine Brooks Traywick, 84, who died Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Abbeville General Hospital.
She will be laid to rest at Graceland Cemetery with Reverend John Vining officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Allen Traywick, Ken Boudreaux, Kenny Boudreaux, Evans Bourque, Josh Herring and Gerad "B.G." Landry, III.
Daphine was born September 16, 1929 in Canadian, Texas. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Mrs. Traywick was very active and involved with the Abbeville United Methodist Church. Serving on the administrative board along with organizing and running the church yard sale for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Traywick; children, Allen W. Traywick and his wife Sharlene Greene, Debbie Traywick Boudreaux and her husband Ken, and Stephen Traywick; grandchildren, Tori Boudreaux Bourque and her husband Evans, Kristi Boudreaux and her fiance Josh Herring, Kenneth Boudreaux, Jr. and his girlfriend Ashley Viator, and Piper Traywick; great grandchildren, Gerad "B.G." Landry, III, Sawyer Bourque, Austin Boudreaux, Grant Landry, Briannah Boudreaux and Jenna Rodefer; and sisters, Vona Benge and Zelda Roberson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Buster Brooks and the former Winnie Mosteller; brothers, Wayne Brooks and Tommy "Sam" Brooks; sisters, Connie Halliston, Kay Taylor and Paulette King; and granddaughter, Katelyn Boudreaux.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Thursday, March 27, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. then visitation will resume at Abbeville United Methodist Church until service time.
The family would like to thank the staff at Abbeville General Hospital for their wonderful care and compassion given to Daphine.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asked that donations be sent to Abbeville United Methodist Church in memory of Daphine Brooks Traywick.
