He

Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery

Reverend Bill Melancon
officiating the services.
Mr. Cormier graduated from Iberia Beauty College and received his cosmetology license in 1961.
He attended Vermilion Beauty Academy and received his instructors license in 1965. Since then, Mr. Cormier has owned salons, managed salons, taught in several cosmetology schools, was educational director for a chain salon, judged national student competitions and was the past owner of Angelo's School of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences,
Inc.
Angelas Cormier became a member of the National Cosmetology Association and the Louisianas Cosmetology Association since 1973. He has served as historian, vice-president, director and treasurer of the the Louisiana Cosmetology Association.
In 1974, Mr. Cormier was instrumental in forming Vermilion Affiliate #22 serving as the president and then serving in all offices of that Affiliate.
Mr. Cormier was appointed to the Louisiana Hair Fashion Committee in 1974. Since then he has served as team designer, styles director, and chairman of that committee.
Mr. Cormier was appointed to the Hairamerica Committee (then Official Hair Fashion Committee). He was commened by the state of Louisiana Senate for bringing honors to the State of Louisiana. He has assisted in participation classes of Hairamerica Trend Releases thoughout the United States.
Mr. Cormier was appointed to the Louisiana State Board of Cosmetology Advisory Committee in 1988.
Angelas Cormier, retired Abbeville business owner, received a Bachelors of Science in Business management degree on May 16, 2011 from the University of Phoenix-Lafayette Campus.
Mr. Cormier states "With retirement comes boredom, encouraging one to pursue an educational goal from younger years."
He
is survived by
his son, Jeremy Cormier and wife Misty of Ellettsville, IN; daughter, Angela Cormier of Lafayette; two brothers, Billy Cormier and his wife Mamie and Peter Cormier, both of Erath; six grandchildren, Ava Cormier, Victoria Cormier and Aaron Broussard, all of Lafayette and Whitney Cormier, Ashton Cormier and Carly Thibodeaux, all of Ellettsville, IN
.
He
was preceded in death by
his maternal grandparents, Boniface Suire, Sr. and Belzire Landry Suire; parents, Angelas J Cormier Sr. and Elta Suire Cormier; two brothers, Shelton Cormier and Shelby Cormier; sister, Mary Grace Cormier; and a grandson, Nathaniel Cormier
.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at
