Jenues "Dale" Abshire

Abbeville — Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Jenues "Dale" Abshire , 60 , who died Sunday , April 6, 2014 at Abbeville General Hospital .

He will be laid to rest at Abshire Cemetery with Pastor Scott Crosby officiating the services.

Dale was a very loving husband, father and grandfather.

He never took a short cut in anything. He will always be remembered for his honesty and attention to detail in his work and home life. In his spare time he enjoyed traveling and spending time outdoors. He was employed with Baker Hughes for over 25 years.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Karan Veazey Abshire; son, Joseph Henry Abshire and his wife, Nicole of Maurice; daughter, Jennifer Abshire Chrisman and her husband, Dillon S. of Abbeville; grandson, Nathan S. Abshire; granddaughters, Brooke V. Chrisman and Emily N. Abshire; brother, Wilbert Abshire; and sister, Phyllis Roy .

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Joseph Abshire and the former Adley Baudoin; and brother, Warren Hardy .

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville , 209 S. St. Charles Street , on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Wednesday, April 9, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m.
