Georgia Brown Kuehling

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. James Catholic Church in Esther honoring the life of Georgia Kuehling, who died July 26, 2008 at Lourdes Hospital, Lafayette. She will be laid to rest at St. James Cemetery with Reverend Mathew Mullamangalam officiating the services. Pallbearers will be her four children and Dana Fontenot. Honorary pallbearers will be Clint Chatman, John Brown, Nick Brown, and Leonard Brown. Georgia Blanche Brown (nee Georgia Vorillas) was born June 21, 1923 in Garden City, Kansas. She was the first of eight children for the late Constantinos Vorillas (Gus Brown) of Kertezi, Greece and the late Evalina Law of Manchester, Oklahoma. Georgia was very proud of her service as a member of the Army in World War II. After her service she married and relocated to Esther, LA where she lived 53 years. In 1999, she moved to Maison de Goodwill in Lafayette. She is survived by her children Stephen Kuehling of New Orleans, Carolyn Kuehling of New Orleans, Bryan Kuehling of Lafayette, Suzan K. Chatman of Lafayette, son-in-law Clint Chatman, and grandaughter Zoe; sister Martha Brown White of Amarillo, TX, John Brown of Amarillo, TX, Nick Brown of Colorado Springs, CO, Leonard Brown of Pueblo, CO; her former husband Harold Kuehling; and special friends Martha Kuehling of Esther, Darlene and Lois Walk of New Orleans, Brendan Doyle of New Orleans, Dana Fontenot of Lafayette, Edna and George Charpentier of Abbeville, Rose Guillory of Eunice, and cousin Pat Maglaras of Sun City, Az. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers James Gus Brown and Arnold Brown, one sister, Ellen Brown Sanders. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Tuesday, July 29th, at St. James Catholic Church in Esther, burial will be in Esther cemetery. Visitation will be held from 8 am Tuesday until time of services at Vincent Funeral Home Abbeville, LA.
