Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 02, 2008 at a 1 :00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Sue Fontenot, 62, who died July 29, 2008 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette. She will be laid to rest at St. James Cemetery in Esther with Reverend Gilbert Dutel officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Michael Fontenot, Blake Stanford, Gregory Sabus, Pete Lege, Christopher Sagrera and Matt Sagrera. Lectors will be Celeste Fontenot-Byler and Erin Sagrera. Fontenot was born in Kaplan, graduated from Abbeville High School and the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now UL). She graduated from the LSU Law School in 1971. Fontenot served as a state district judge in the 15th Judicial District from 1976 to 1987. She is survived by her brother, Michael Tenes Fontenot of Kaplan; her children, Jean-Paul Perrodin of Lafayette and Ahna Sagrera of Atlanta; nephew, Mike Fontenot, Jr.; and niece, Celeste Fontenot -Byler. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maudry Marceaux Fontenot and Tenes Fontenot; and two brothers, James Fontenot and Brad Fontenot. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home, 209 South St. Charles, Abbeville, Friday, August 1st from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m.; Saturday, August 2nd from 8 a.m. until time of service.
