Abbeville—Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of James Steve Sonnier, 58, who died Friday, May 23, 2014 at Heart Hospital of Lafayette.

He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Pastor Steve Delino officiating the services.

James was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Iris Suire Sonnier of Abbeville; son, Seth James Sonnier of Erath; daughter, Tania LeMaire and her husband Josh of Erath; granddaughter, Pipper Lynn LeMaire; and two brothers, Gary Sonnier and Mona Nichols of Kaplan and Daren "Boo" Sonnier and his wife Jennifer of Abbeville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lenwood Sonnier and the former Rosa Viator; and one brother, Jerry Sonnier.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 from 8:30 a.m. until time of services.
