Mae Broussard Howard

Pallbearers will be her three grandsons; Mark Goodson, Michael Melancon, and Matthew Melancon and her two grandsons in law Chris Pearce and Ryan Ragas. Honorary pallbearer will be Steve Hungerford.
Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years Mr. William T. "Happy" Howard of The Woodlands, Texas; her two daughters Mrs. Glenda H. Krall and her husband, Michael of The Woodlands, Texas and Mrs. Rebecca H. Melancon and her husband, James of Katy, Texas; five grandchildren; Mr. Mark Goodson and his wife, Stacie of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Catherine G. Ragas and her husband, Ryan of Youngsville, Mrs. Melanie Pearce and her husband Chris of Katy, Texas., Michael Melancon of Houston, Texas, and Matthew Melancon of Katy, Texas; and eight great-grandchildren; Timothy Goodson, Winston Goodson, Madison Goodson, Henry Ragas, Evie Ragas, Anna Pearce, Noah Pearce, and Chaz Todaro.
Mae was born and lived in Abbeville for 90 years until moving to Texas in 2006 to be near her daughters. While in Abbeville, Mae touched the lives of many children through education. She spent 26 years teaching pre-kindergarten in her school "Happy Day Nursery Kindergarten". She enjoyed working in her yard with her beautiful flowers and vegetable garden. Spending time with her family was her favorite activity. She will be greatly missed by all those her knew her.
Visitation will be held at Vincent Funeral Home, 209 South Saint Charles Street, Abbeville, Thursday, August 7, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Friday August 8, 2008 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful caregivers, Dr. Peter Bigler, and Dr. Clay Fisher for their support and care.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church and First Baptist Church of Abbeville.
