Raymond Joseph Gerard

He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Deacon William "Billy" Vincent officiating the services. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
A lifelong resident of Abbeville he spent his life enjoying time with his family, fishing, gardening and boating.
He is survived by by his wife of 59 years, Peggy; daughter, Vicki Guidry and her husband PJ of Oklahoma City; two sons, William (Bill) and his wife Jennifer of Abbeville and Brian and his wife Terrell of The Woodlands, TX, one brother, Newby Gerard and his wife Linda of Youngsville, LA; and a sister-n-law, Judy Aselton. His family included eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Russell Raymond; grandson, Richard; parents, Romeal Gerard and the former Ola Broussard; brothers, Irby Gerard and his wife Marilyn and Newton Gerard.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Sunday, June 1, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Monday June 2, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.
