Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2014 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Dewey “Dewitt” Suire, 85, who died Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at his residence. He will be laid to rest at Suire Cemetery with Reverend Keith Landry officiating the services.
He is survived by his son, James Suire and his life partner, Albert Langner of Anchorage, AK; three daughters, Mable and her husband, A.J. Constantine of Forked Island, Samantha Rose and her husband, Mark Palmatier of Anchorage, AK, and Bertha Faye and her husband, Davis Harrington of Forked Island; two sisters, Mary Jane and her husband, Earl Richard of Crowley and Barbara Vincent of Kaplan; two brothers, Clifford Suire of Forked Island and Mayo Suire Jr. and his wife, Cecile of Forked Island; ten grandchildren, Amanda and Kevin Constantine, Tanya Fontenot, Jerrid and Kristofer Palmatier, Jason Suire, Michael and Francesca Harrington, Nicholas Dale Suire, and Shanna Tran; and thirteen great grandchildren .
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alva Jane "Skinny" Suire; his son, Michael Dale Suire; his parents, Mayo Suire Sr. and the former Loise Rung; and one sister, Rosetta Menard.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Thursday, June 12, 2014 from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Friday, June 13, 2014 from 8 a.m. until services.
