Abbeville—Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Virgie Marie Bourgeois, 78, who died Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Lafayette General Medical Center. She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Deacon Joe Hebert officiating the services.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years Dennis Bourgeois; one son, James Darren Bourgeois; two daughters, Janice D. Vincent and Cynthia Boudreaux; one brother, Michael Schexnaider; three sisters, Mary Campbell, Joyce Gaspard, and Alva Jane Dartez; five grandchildren, Scott Boudreaux, Eric Boudreaux, Nicole Simon, Terry Joseph Vincent II, and Jenny Meaux; and numerous great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Evest Schexnaider and the former Augusta Lemaire; one sister, Joan Miller; and her granddaughter, Crystal Vincent.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Saturday, June 28, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. until the time of sevice with a rosary to be prayed at 1:00 p.m.
