Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Alfred Stelly Sr., 92, who died Thursday, July 3, 2014 at his residence. He will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Fr. Matthew Barzare officiating the services.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Linda C. Stelly of Kaplan; three sons, Leeman Stelly of Abbeville, Alvin Stelly of Abbeville, and Alfred Stelly, Jr. and his wife, Henrietta of Delcambre; four daughters, Marlene Stelly of Kaplan, Judy and her husband, James Hargrave of Kaplan, Maxine and her husband, Larry Saltzman of Mulvey, and Emalee Stelly of Lafayette; 21 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fernand Stelly and the former Olite Broussard; four brothers; one sister; and two great granddaughters, Sage and Emma Stelly.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Friday, July 4, 2014 from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Saturday, July 5, 2014 from 8 a.m. until services.
