Abbeville—Memorial services will be held Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville honoring the life of Jacqueline Battle Guidry, 58, of Kaplan who died Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Abbeville General Hospital.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph Calvin Guidry; one brother, Mike Battle and his wife Bonnie; one daughter, Laura Suzanne Hernandez and two step children, David Guidry and Amanda Guidry; and one granddaughter, the sunshine of her life Gabriel Nicole Hernandez.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary R. Battle and Jack T. Battle.
Jacqueline was a resident of Pensacola, FL; Atlanta, GA; Pearl Ms; and Kaplan, LA.
She was the assistant administrator to surgery at the University Hospital in Jackson, Ms. She was the owner/operator of a delivery run for Pony Express and was a member of the Board of Directors for the Pearl Jaycees.
A friend of Bill and Dr. Bob for 27 years, sober for the last 5 years. She was an avid outdoors woman, who loved fishing, boating, camping and traveling. A lover of all animals, she ran barrels with horses and competed in the dog show arena.
She will be missed by family and friends, by Southside Jackson, Ms. and Abbeville area groups where she was a member.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
