He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Deanna Hargrave Rung of Cow Island; one son, Errol Blain Rung and his wife Callie Dean of Port Barre; two sisters, Eula Mae Abshire of Indian Bayou and Myrtis Rung and her husband, Winford Abshire of Cow Island; his mother-in-law, Neola Hargrave; one god child, Kevin Abshire; and six grandchildren, Emily Rung of Lafayette, Ethan Rung of Port Barre, Alyssa Rung of Port Barre, Lillian Rung of Port Barre, Irene Rung of Port Barre, and Nathan Rung of Port Barre.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Eugenia Rung; one grandson, Brock Duhon; his parents, Ellis Rung Sr. and the former Mable LeMaire; and his father-in-law, Oldy Hargrave.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Thursday, July 10, 2014 from 8 a.m. until services.
