Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at a 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Annie Mae Reed, 90, who passed away peacefully Friday, July 11, 2014 at her residence.
She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Glyn Hardy, Phillip Hardy, Shane Hebert, Shaun Hebert, Johnny Bertrand and Andre Babin.
She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church and the Ladies Alter Society for several decades. Mrs. Reed taught religion to children and adults for thirty-three years at St. Theresa Catholic Church. She was a devoted catholic who worked at St. Vincent De Paul in the early years of it's establishment in Abbeville.
She is survived by her two daughters, Ann Hardy and her husband Glyn; and Mary R. Hebert; two sisters, Ruby Bertrand and Nedia Guarino; grandchildren, Theresa Trahan, Shane Hebert, Jan Babin, Shaun Hebert and Phillip Hardy; nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Newman Reed; father, Theonis Vidallia; mother, Lorena Vidallia; brother Noah Vidallia and infant brother Edwin Vidallia.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers at Heart of Hospice of Acadiana. We will never forget the incredible support and compassion we received through Heart of Hospice. Also, we would like to give special thanks to Celeste Hardy for her wonderful care through this illness.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. until time of service with a rosary to be prayed at 10:00 a.m.
