Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2014 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Billy James Mire, 63, who died Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Abbeville General Hospital. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Fr. Matthew Barzare officiating the services.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, JoAnn Hargrave Mire of Kaplan; three daughters, Christina and her husband, Justin Trahan of Abbeville, Brandi and her husband, Minos Cashat of Leesville, and Lolita Mire and her fiance, Justin Brown of Leesville; two sisters, Betty Hebert of Nunez and Glenda Mire of Kaplan; four brothers, Chester Mire of Mississippi, Bobby Mire of Kaplan, Alfred Mire of Kaplan, and Jerry Mire of Baton Rouge; six grandchildren; and his life long best friend, Kenneth Schexnyder.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred James Mire and the former Lilly Mae LeMaire; and his sister, Delores Stelly.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Thursday, July 24, 2014 from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 8 p.m.; Friday, July 25, 2014 from 8 a.m. until services.
