He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Deacon Randy Hyde officiating the services.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl G. Desormeaux; three sons, Daniel Desormeaux and his wife Joyce, William Pene and his wife Patti, and Ronald Pene; twelve grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Desire Desormeaux and the former Elzina Faulk; son, Joseph Desormeaux, Jr.; daughter, Dianna Lynn Lege'; four brothers; and six sisters.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Thursday, July 24, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.; Friday, July 25, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
