Funeral services will be held Monday, September 8, 2008 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Jack Charles Compton, Jr., 66, who died Friday, August 29, 2008 at Lafayette Care Center.
He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Greg Chauvin officiating the services.
The family would like to thank the following hospitals for their kindness and professional care extended to their loved one, Lafayette Care Center, Our Lady of Lourdes and the staff on the 8th floor of Lafayette General Hospital along with Heart of Hospice.
He is survived by his daughter, Denise C. Boutte of Abbeville; and two grandchildren, Jade Woods and Josiah Boutte both of Abbeville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Levy Compton; parents, Jack Charles Compton, Sr. and the former Jennie Rita Fontenette; and a granddaughter, Jasmine Amber Woods.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Sunday, September 7, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Monday, September 8, 2008 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
