Verta Mae "Pie" Leblanc Richard

She will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Reverend Louis Richard officiating the services.
"Miss. Pie" was a member of the Lay Carmelite Order. Both she and her husband were the original owners of Johnny's Pizza in Abbeville.
She is survived by her two daughters, Patricia Richard Paternostro and her husband, Joseph Paternostro of New Orleans, and Suzanne Richard Curole of Abbeville; one son, John Douglas Richard of Abbeville; six granddaughters, Lisa Paternostro Beck and her husband, Gerard of New Orleans, Kim Paternostro Adams and her husband, Lawrence of New Orleans, Julie Blanchard and her fiancé, Paul Schmit of New Orleans, Eve Richard Leger and her husband, Chris of Lafayette, Ada Richard of Abbeville, and Katti Richard LuQuette and her husband, Gale of Abbeville; two grandsons, Scott Blanchard and his wife, Michelle of Harahan, and Shane Richard and his wife, Jennifer of San Antonio; fourteen great grandchildren, Courtney Cleveland, Christopher Cleveland, Britney Blanchard, Justin Blanchard, Matthew Blanchard, Ashley Adams, Nicholas Adams, Rachel Beck, Brandon Beck, Dominic Seaux Lebonte, Ethan Leger, Allison Richard, Ethan Richard, and Destiny Lormand.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Remus Joseph Richard; parents, Eloi LeBlanc and the former Nora Petry; three brothers, Harold LeBlanc, Elliot LeBlanc, and Ovey Sellers; one sister, Georgette LeBlanc; and one son, Remus Joseph Richard, Jr.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 300 Pere Megret Street, on Monday, August 18, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.
