Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 23, 2014 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of John Joseph Derouen, 90, who died Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Vermilion Health Care Center.

He will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Reverend Louis Richard officiating the services.

He is survived by his son, Gerald Derouen; daughter, Marie Louise Derouen; step son, Jeffery Hebert; and two step daughters, Shirley Hebert and Esther Janise.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Velta Ledet; his parents; and numerous brothers and sisters.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Friday, August 22, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, August 23, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
