Carol Benoit Marceaux

November 12, 1947 — August 20, 2014

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Friday, August 22, 2014 at a 3 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Carol Benoit Marceaux, 66, who died Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at her residence. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Cedric Sonnier and Reverend David Broussard officiating the services. Concelebrants will be Reverend Matthew Barzare, Reverend Kendal Faulk, Reverend Johnathan Janise, Reverend Taj Glodd and Deacon David Vaughn.


Carol worked at Nichols Department Store, Federal Land Bank, and served as bookkeeper for Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church and Maltrait Memorial School. She also spent many years as the religious coordinator for CCD. Carol enjoyed spending time with her family, making rosaries, and she also loved to read.


She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Gerard "Junior" Marceaux of Kaplan; one daughter, Julie and her husband, William Romero of Kaplan; one sister, Cathy Hebert of Breaux Bridge; one brother, Wilbur "Bubba" Benoit of Kaplan; and four grandchildren, Emmie, Wyatt, Anna Jane, and Andrew Romero, all of Kaplan.


She was preceded in death by her son, Chad Aaron Marceaux; her parents, Wilbur Joseph Benoit and the former Wanda Mae Primeaux; and one sister, Danette Meaux.


The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Thursday, August 21, 2014 from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Friday, August 22, 2014 from 8 a.m. until the funeral procession leaves for the church.
