Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Jimmie Dale Bertrand, 62, who died Sunday, September 14, 2008 at North Oaks Medical Center in Houma.

He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Deacon David Vaughn officiating the services.

He is survived by two sons, Raywood Bertrand and his wife Pat and Jimmie Dale Bertrand Jr. and his fiancee Bliss Hebert, all of Kaplan; one daughter, Jenny Bertrand and her fiance Steven Prather of Cow Island; Jimmie's companion, Rita Moreau of Forked Island; two grandchildren, Laci Prather of Cow Island and Sheena Bertrand of Kaplan; and two step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Presley Bertrand and the former Bertha LeMaire.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Monday, September 15, 2008 from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 6 p.m.; Tuesday, September 16, from 8 a.m. until services.
