Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Walton Trahan, 92, who died Sunday, September 14, 2008 at American Legion Hospital.
He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Deacon Paul Roy Eleazar officiating the services.
He is survived by two daughters, Joyce Eleazar and her husband Robert of Kaplan and Eva Hartman of Spingfield, Missouri; three grandchildren, Lynn E. Bourque of Kaplan and her husband Andrew, Angela Hartman and Bryan Hartman, both of California; one great grandchild, Andre Bourque of Kaplan; one sister-in-law, Cecile Abshire of Kaplan; one brother-in-law, Edess Cormier and his wife Dorothy of Duson; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years, Rita C. Trahan; his parents, Oledie Trahan and Edith Hebert Trahan; brothers; and sisters.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m.; Wednesday, September 17, from 8 a.m. until the procession departs for the church.
