Clara Hardee Burdick

January 16, 1918 — September 15, 2008

Gueydan—Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church in Lake Arthur honoring the life of Clara Hardee Burdick, 90, who died Monday, September 15, 2008 at her residence.

She will be laid to rest at the Gueydan Cemetery with Reverend Carolyn Volentine officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Larry, Richard, and Dwight Hardee, Patrick and Hansford Hair, Alden Horton, and Farrell Woods.

Mrs. Burdick was a graduate of Gueydan High School and George Peabody College for Teachers in Nashville, Tennessee. She taught school in Louisiana, Texas, and Missouri for 35 years.

She is survived by thirteen nieces and nephews, and her sister, Mildred Hardee Hair.

Clara was preceded in death by her husband, R. Courtney Burdick; her parents, H.G. Hardee Sr. and Erma Curtis Hardee; and her brothers, H.G. Hardee Jr. and Burnell Dwight Hardee.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth Street, on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m.; Visitation will continue at the First United Methodist Church in Lake Arthur, Wednesday, September 17, 2008, from 8 a.m. until services.
