Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 20, 2014 at a 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Lee Joyce Gaspard, 80, who died Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Post Acute Medical Specialty Hospital Of Lafayette. She will be laid to rest at LeMaire Cemetery with Reverend Matthew Barzare officiating the services.

She is survived by her companion, Dalson Broussard; four sons, Ronald Gaspard and his wife, Jo of Many, Daniel Gaspard and his wife, Debbie of Forked Island, Bradley Gaspard and his wife, Tammy of Broussard, Herbert Gaspard, Jr. and his wife, Donna of Katy, TX; one son-in-law, Ervin Abshire of Forked Island; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Campbell of Lafayette and Alva Jane Dartez of Kaplan; and one brother, Mike Schexnaider of Lafayette.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Herbert "Daby" Gaspard, Sr.; her parents, Evest Schexnaider and the former Augusta LeMaire; two sisters, June Miller and Virgie Bourgeois; one daughter, Gloria Abshire; and one great grandson, Blake Gaspard.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Friday, September 19, 2014 from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Saturday, September 20, 2014 from 8 a.m. until services.
