October 11, 1914 — September 24, 2008

Gueydan—Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2008 at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan honoring the life of Robert Potier, 93, who died Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at the Crowley American Legion Hospital.

He will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Reverend Mitchell Guidry officiating the services.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Willa Mae "Mamie" Nunez Potier of Gueydan; one son, Lester Potier and his wife Jeanie of Gueydan; four daughters, Donna Mae Potier, Helen and her husband Larry Gaspard, Gloria Taber, and Cecile and her husband Tommy LeJeune, all of Gueydan; one sister, Mary P. Broussard of Gueydan; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and eight step-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Robert Potier Jr.; one daughter, Arlene Potier; and one son-in-law, Richard Taber.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth Street, on Thursday, September 25, 2008 from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m.; Friday, September 26, from 8 a.m. until services.
