Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Monday, September 29, 2008 at an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Dorothy Trahan, 79, who died Thursday, September 25, 2008 at LA Extended Care Hospital.
She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend David Broussard officiating the services.
She is survived by three sons, Claude Kennedy and his wife Linda of Kaplan, Nolan Ledet and his wife Darlene of Kaplan and Obray Trahan, Jr. and his wife Brenda of Bacliff, Texas; four daughters, Barbara and her husband Percy Miller of Kaplan, Rebecca Romero of Lafayette, Jackie and her husband Donald Gaspard of Kaplan and Vanessa and her husband Robert Choate of Kaplan; one sister, Rita and her husband Wilfred Mouton of Kaplan; seventeen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Obray Trahan, Sr.; her brother, Paul Dudley Kershaw; two sisters, Pearl Smith and Enola Hargrave; her parents, William Kershaw and the former Marie Conner.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Sunday, September 28, 2008 from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m. and Monday, September 29, from 8 a.m. until services.
