Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 2, 2014 at a 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Lloyd Joseph Guilbeaux, 88, who died Monday, September 29, 2014 at Abbeville General Hospital.
He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Shane Richard, Gary Richard, Wayne Doucet, Derek Logan, Donald Logan and Wayne LeBlanc.
Lloyd worked as a dragline operator his whole life. He loved spending time with family and friends and dancing. He had a passion for gardening and enjoyed sharing his harvest.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marie Richard Guilbeaux; son, Kenneth Dale Guilbeaux and his wife, Charlotte of Gulf Port, Mississippi; daughter, Lisa Logan and her husband, Donald of Abbeville; grandchildren, Jenna Guilbeaux, Robin Guilbeaux and Derek Logan; great grandchildren, Rilley Dabbs, Abigail Sorel and Wade Szhwers; brother, Dennis Guilbeaux; and sisters, Meardy Guilbeaux, Maude Sellers and Eula Guilbeaux.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cesar Guilbeaux and the former Annie Richard; grandson, Joshua Logan; sister, Adley White and brothers, Weston Guilbeaux and Leroy Guilbeaux.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Thursday, October 2, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
