Roy Reme Broussard

September 20, 1912 — October 5, 2008

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at a 3:00 p.m. service at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville honoring the life of Roy Reme Broussard, 96, who died Sunday, October 5, 2008 at Abbeville General Hospital.
He will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Rev. Ed McClellan officiating the services.

Mr. Broussard was the former chairman and president of Bank of Abbevile.

He is survived by a son, Michael "Mickey" Broussard and wife Judy of Abbeville; a daughter, Camille B. Siegel and Harlod D. of Baton Rouge; four grandchildren, Sandie S. Smith and husband Josh, Andree' B. Freeland and husband Pat, Michael P. Broussard, Jr. and wife Danner, and Julie B. Guillot and husband Kim Paul; a brother Justin J. Broussard and wife Ruth; two sisters-in-laws, Marquerite H. Broussard and Florence H. Broussard; and eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Cecile "Cis" Elizabeth Broussard; parents, Mr. and Mrs. John and Hattie Sutton Broussard; two brothers, Lavelle Broussard and Warren E. Broussard; and a sister, Beatrice B. McClellan.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 from 1:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
