Hilda Herpin Hardy

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Hilda Herpin Hardy, 89, who died Monday, October 13, 2008 at Abbeville General Hospital. She will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Reverend William C. Blanda officiating the services.

Pallbearers will be Brian Desormeaux, Chris Desormeaux, Todd Desormeaux, Danny Cormier, Ryan Cormier and Michael Desormeaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Brett Cormier, Gary Green and Douglas Moore.

Hilda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother of four and great grandmother of seven. She was loved much and will be sadly missed.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Shirley and son-in-law, Lester Desormeaux; four grandchildren, Brian Desormeaux and wife Debbie of Austin, Texas, Chris Desormeaux and wife Tina of Abbeville, Todd Desormeaux and wife Patty of Baton Rouge and Shari D. Cormier and husband Danny of Abbeville; seven great grandchildren, Michael Desormeaux, Ryan Cormier, Brett Cormier, Kara Desormeaux, Douglas Moore, Rachel Green and Gary Green; one neice, Dorothy H. Lege; and her special best friends, sister-in-law, Rose Herpin and Mrs. Louise Baudoin.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eddia "Nu-Noot" Hardy; parents, Arthe Herpin and the former Evia Duhon; two brothers, Edes Herpin and Murphy Herpin; two sisters, Viola H. Hollier and Lillian Herpin; and two nephews, Murphy Hollier and Jeffery Hollier.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Wednesday, October 15, 2008 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Acadiana, Dr. Corbert LeBouef, the staff at Heritage Manor and the nurses at Abbeville General Hospital for their compassion and kindness.
