Michael T. Fontenot

He will be laid to rest at St. James Cemetery with Reverend Greg Chauvin officiating the services.

Michael was born in Kaplan, LA, on November 16, 1949, the son of Tenes Fontenot and Maudry Marie Marceaux. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, brothers, Bradley Francis Fontenot and James Elwood Fontenot, and sister, Sue Fontenot.

After serving his country in the Army during Vietnam, Mr. Fontenot worked the remainder of his life as a welder and welding inspector. He was an avid outdoorsman with a keen aim, and he was also a master mason.

He is survived by one son, Michael Charles Fontenot; one daughter, Celeste Shelly Fontenot-Byler and her husband Rusty Patrick Byler;one grandchild, Gauge Patrick Byler all of Hackberry, LA. and niece and nephew Ahna Miguel Sagrera and Jean-Paul Andre' Perrodin.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Monday, October 20, 2008 from 10:30 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a roasry to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Tuesday, October 21, 2008 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
