Gueydan—Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 10, 2014 at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan honoring the life of Peggi Gillespie, 61, who died Friday, November 7, 2014 at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital. She will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Reverend Matthew Barzare officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Freddie Babin, Steve Gillespie, Howie Gillespie, Clifford Lejeune, Chris Babin, and Danny Babin. Honorary pallbearers will be Chelsie Babin and Cameron Trahan.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, James "Dugan" Gillespie of Gueydan; one son, Justin "Boot" Gillespie of Lake Arthur; three brothers, Danny Babin and his wife, Francis of Gueydan, Freddie Babin and his wife, Gloria of Gueydan, and Chris Babin of Gueydan; two neices Chelsie Babin and Jennifer Babin; and many great neices and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Babin and the former Mamie Fabre.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth Street, on Sunday, November 9, 2014 from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m.; Monday, November 10, 2014 from 8 a.m. until services.
