Jed Wilson Abshire
February 16, 1977 — November 15, 2014
Jed was a lifelong resident of Kaplan. During his life he enjoyed music, raising reptiles, spending time with family, and friends. He was a loving husband and father. He will be truly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Lindsay Broussard Abshire; one son, Aaron Russell Abshire; one daughter, Maria Linnette Abshire; his parents, Russell Wayne Abshire and the former Callie Cormier; two brothers, Christopher Jude Abshire and his wife, Sarah and Joshua Abshire and his wife, Kristen; one sister, Dawn and her husband, Matthew Vigneaux; his grandfather, Marcelius Cormier; four nieces, Cora Abshire, Krislyn Abshire, Myah Vigneaux, and Elise Hargrave; eight nephews, Sean Abshire and his wife, Jaida, Blake Abshire, Blaine Abshire, Korban Abshire, Alex Abshire, Ethyn Vigneaux, Jacob Vidalier, Adam Vidalier, and Matthew Hargrave; one great niece, Mylee Abshire; close friends, John Menard and Shawn Lavalley; his in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Broussard; three sisters-in-law, Courtney and her husband, Brian Vidalier, Allison and her husband, James Jester, and Erika and her husband, Jason Hargrave; one brother-in-law, Nicholas Broussard; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends; and co-workers.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Velma Cormier; his paternal grandmother, Hazel Hebert Abshire; two nieces, Hailey Ann and Bailey Nicole Vigneaux; three uncles, Richard Abshire, Mahlan Abshire, and Wesley Abshire; and one aunt, Ellen Menard.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Thursday, November 20, 2014 from 8 a.m. until services.
