Lovelace "Shine" Dubois

October 2, 1933 — October 23, 2008

—Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at the Kaplan Cemetery honoring the life of Lovelace Joseph DuBois, 75, who died Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.

He will be laid to rest at the Kaplan Cemetery with Father David Broussard officiating the services.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sable Thibodeaux DuBois of Abbeville; one son, Jimmy DuBois of Lake Bay, Washington; two daughters, Karla Borde’ and husband Jude of Abbeville and Karolyn DuBois and husband Scott of Bend, Oregon; one stepson, Tracy Viator of Abbeville; one stepdaughter, Sheila Orr and her husband Robert of New Iberia; two brothers, Dallas DuBois and his wife Martha and Joseph "Dim" DuBois, of Abbeville; one sister, Verna Sonnier and husband Neville of Jeanerette; eleven grandchildren, Venus Soileau and husband Jared, Chante Viator, Roberta Meyers and husband Jason, Jesse Orr, James Viator and wife Tara, Michael Viator and friend Cherie and son Kavel, Dylan Borde, Devin Borde, Taura Faust and husband Casey, Christine DuBois, and Carey DuBois; and eight great grandchildren, A.J., Ramone, Wilson, Kya, Isabelle, Mikey, Sage and Carver.

He was preceded in death by his son, Duane DuBois; one brother, Odeon DuBois; and his parents, Oday Dubois and the former Helen Broussard.
