Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2014 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Nelson John Hargrave, 78, who died Thursday, November 27, 2014 at his residence. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Farley Painter officiating the services.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Janiel A.Hargrave of Kaplan; two sons, John Hargrave of Kaplan and James Allen Hargrave of Smithville, TN; two step-sons, Mark Anthony Palombo of Erath and Larry LeBlanc of Kaplan; three daughters, Lisa Marie Hume of Elgin, TX, Melinda Hargrave Gaspard of Kaplan, and Michelle Hargrave of Kaplan; two step-daughters, Ella LeBlanc and Elizabeth LeBlanc, both of Kaplan; two sisters, Margaret Hargrave and Evelyn Foreman, both of Milton; one brother, Elton Hargrave of Lake Arthur; 25 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam Joseph Hargrave and the former Evelyn Marie Duhon; one son, Jeffery David Hargrave; one sister, Beverly Caswell; one brother, Wilson David Joseph Hargrave; and one son-in-law, Kim Anthony Gaspard.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Sunday, November 30, 2014 from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m.; Monday, December 1, 2014 from 8 a.m. until services.
