Gueydan—Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at an 11:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Rose Dugas LeBlanc, 78, who died Saturday, November 29, 2014 at her residence. She will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Reverend Corey Campeaux officiating the services.
Rose received her Bachelor’s Degree from University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1973. After graduating from McNeese State University with her Master’s Degree in Education in 1976, Rose went on to teach at St. Maria Goretti High School in Lake Arthur for three years. She then devoted 33 years of teaching at Gueydan Elementary and Gueydan High School.
She is survived by two sons, Ricky G. LeBlanc and his wife, Christina of New Haven, Michigan and Jimmy P. LeBlanc and his wife, Rita of Crowley; one daughter, Connie L. and her husband, Rodney Trahan of Lake Charles; two brothers, Larry Dugas and his wife, Sherry of Gueydan and Kenneth Dugas and his wife, Jean of Crowley; thirteen grandchildren, Jessica, Daudie, Jacob, Michael, Jim, Josh, Hailey, Courtney, Amber, Colby, Brandon, Leslie, and Shawn; sixteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as, great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alcee Dugas and the former Claudia Simon.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth Street, on Monday, December 1, 2014 from 10:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. with a rosary being prayer at 6:00 P.M.; Tuesday December 2, 2014 from 8:00 A.M until the procession departs for church at 10:45 A.M.
