Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Monday, November 3, 2008 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Dudless Joseph Pontiff, 83, who died Friday, October 31, 2008 at Abbeville General Hospital.

He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services.

He is survived by his wife, Isabelle Boudreaux Pontiff; one son, Michael James Pontiff and wife Helon; one daughter, Diana P. Boudreaux and husband Joseph; grandchildren, Timothy Boudreaux and wife Jan, Melissa Romero and husband Sean, and Steven Keith Pontiff and wife Billie; great granchildren, Auston Boudreaux, Lauron Boudreaux, Destiny Pontiff, Jaden Romero and Jordan Romero; one brother, Carroll Pontiff; and one sister, Lillian Romero.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Onedia Pontiff and the former Elita Vice; and siblings, Melvin, Midlred, Lurby and Lennis.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Sunday, November 2, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Monday, November 3, 2008 from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
