Mary loved her family more than life itself. She loved to mow her yard, work in her garden and cook for everybody. She was an active member of St. James Catholic Church in Mouton Cove.
Mary has been in the hospital since August 20th, 2014 and her only complaint was she missed her little dog. Her favorite time of year was , “New Year’s”. We have a family tradition for New Year’s Eve. The whole family gathers for a night out on the town. She loved to dance the night away! This was a special night for our family to be together to bring in the New Year. She will be sadly missed this year and years to come. We know in spirit she will always be with us.
Mary worked for Bruce’s Foods for over 50 years and looked forward to going to work every day. She also loved her extended family at Bruce’s.
She is survived by her son, Steve Vaughn and his wife Karen of Robertsdale, AL; three grandchildren, Carleen DeVoltz of Abbeville, Misty Holland and her husband Donald of Peel, AR and Quentin Vaughn and his wife Lauren Hebert Vaughn of Abbeville; six great grandchildren, Brittlyn DeVoltz, Joseph DeVoltz, Christy Vaughn and her fiance' Jacob Delcambre, Kaitlyn DeVoltz, Robert Howell and Grant Paul Vaughn; two great great grandchildren, Tyler Delcambre and Taylor Delcambre; one brother, Raywood "T-Neg" Stelly of Forked Island; and two sisters, Dorothy Stelly Kohl of Pasadena, TX and Florence "Flo" Stelly Guidry of Galveston, TX.
