He will be laid to rest at St. Alphonsus Cemetery with Reverend Joseph Breaux officiating the services.
Forest created beautiful lifetime memories for families as the proud owner of Simon's Portrait Studio. He also owned All-Acadiana Insurance Agency and loved fishing, hunting and cooking for his clients at his camp in Butte La Rose.
He is survived by his daughter, Debra Simon of Lafayette; sister, Anna Lou Palombo and her husband Joe of Lafayette; brother, Vernis Simon; and numerous "favorite" nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Duhon Simon; son, Dwight Wayne Simon; brothers, Paul, James Lee and Lenis; and parents, Dausira Simon and the former Melina Roy.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Friday, December 12, 2014, from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
