Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Monday, December 15, 2014 at a 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Lucy Guidry, 93, who died Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Maison du Monde Living Center.
She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services.
Pallbearers will be Toby Broussard, Gregory Bradley, Keith Reinsch, Van Guidry, Robert Nichols and Sean Bourque.
Mrs. Guidry enjoyed traveling, gardening, sewing, cooking, dancing and spending time with friends and family. Lucy also had a deep appreciation for all animals especially small dogs and cats.
She is survived by her son, Royce Guidry and his wife Andree; four daughters, Jeanie Thurmond and her husband Hershel, Linda Reinsch, Susan Sims and her husband Jim and Sandra Nichols; a sister, Audrey Broussard; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and a great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Royce Guidry Sr.;her parents, Maurice Ledet and Laurencia Bergeron Ledet; a brother, Morris Ledet “Jr.”; five sisters, Ella Frederick, Elise Harrington, Laura Bourgeois, Harriet LeBlanc and Anite Babineaux; and a son-in-law, Thomas Reinsch.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Sunday, December 14, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Monday December 15, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Louisiana SPCA or a charity of your choice.
