Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Willie Mae Brasseux, 95, who died Sunday, December 14, 2014 at her residence.
She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Louis Richard officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Gerrod Brasseux, Barrett Brasseux, Christopher Guilbeau, Jonathan Guilbeau, Jeremy Romero and Chris Meche. Honorary pallbearers will be Wade Lege, Erin Lege, Adam Lege and Blaine Dugas.
She is survived by her son, Gerald Godfrey Brasseux and his wife, Susan of Abbeville; daughter, Patricia Lege and her husband Glenn of Abbeville; nine grandchildren, Gerrod Brasseux, Virginia Meche, Barrett Brasseux, Tricia Romero, Christopher Guilbeau, Jonathan Guilbeau, Wade Lege, Erin Lege and Adam Lege; and twelve great grandchildren, Andrew, Alex, Ally, Kate, Claire, Jack, Brynn, Andrey, Landon, Lene' Claire, Carter and Catherine.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Godfrey Brasseux; parents, Eloi Lene and the former Annice LeBouef; brother, Wilton Lene; and son-in-law, Christopher Gale Guilbeau.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 from 1:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Wednesday, December 17, 2014, from 8:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to Willa Mae's friend and caregiver, Mrs. Kitty Bush along with caregivers, Ellen Chatman and Toppie Lee.
