Pecan Island—Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church honoring the life of Mary Mae Choate, 96, who died Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital. She will be laid to rest at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery with Reverend Keith Landry officiating the services.
She is survived by her son, Jimmie Choate, and his wife Gloria of Forked Island; 15 grandchildren, James Choate, Robert Choate, Mark Choate, Ricky Monic, Sharlene Monic, Tony Monic, Darlene Campbell, Danny Campbell, O.J. Campbell, Roland Campbell, Michael Campbell, Susan Choate, Cindy Choate, Spencer Choate, and Scott Choate; 26 great grandchildren; and 19 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elaire Broussard and the former Edna Herpin; her husband, Otis Joseph Choate; one son, Eugene Choate; two daughters, Cecile Campbell and Marie Monic; one brother; and two sisters.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, on Friday, December 19, 2014 from 9 a.m. until services with a rosary being prayed at 11 a.m.
