Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 13, 2008 at a 10:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Hilda Broussard Picard, 80, who died Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at Residence. She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services. Hilda was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was proud of the fact that she graduated second in her class from Henry High School. She is survived by husband, John Picard of Abbeville; a son, Tommy and wife Rachel Picard of Abbeville; daughter, Brenda and husband Leslie Cross of New Iberia; grandchildren, Heather Cross of Baton Rouge, Meredith and husband Trenton Oubre of Baton Rouge, John Cross of New Iberia, Jeremy and wife Heather Picard of Meaux, Nickie and husband John Toups of Erath, Matt and wife Ellen Hebert of Erath; great grandchildren, Alec Toups of Erath, Jack Toups of Erath, T.J. Oubre of Baton Rouge, Grant Thomas Oubre of Baton Rouge, Julia Grace Toups of Erath, Luke Hebert of Erath, Drew Primeaux of Meaux, Madison Primeaux of Meaux. She was preceded in death by father, Luke Broussard; mother, Nelia Dugas Broussard; sister, Ursula "Tut" Broussard. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 2:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 P.M.; they will reopen on Thursday, November 13, 2008 at 8:00 A.M. until service time. The family would like to give special thank to her caretakers, Audry Broussard and her daughters, Faye Gastal, Hospice of Acadiana and Yvette LeBlanc.
