Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 3, 2015 at a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Joseph Presley Dartez, 86, who died Monday, December 29, 2014 at his residence. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Cedric Sonnier officiating the services.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Leola M. Dartez of Kaplan; one son, Anthony Dartez and his wife, Jacqueline of Kaplan; three grandchildren, Joshua Dartez, Jamie Menard, and Skyler Julien; and six great grandchildren, Londyn Menard, Maverick Menard, Noah Dartez, Karter Julien, Zander Dartez, and Zayden Dartez.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elphedge Dartez and the former Carrest Broussard; two sisters, Rosa Mae Broussard and Verda Malone; and one brother, Roy Patton.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Friday, January 2, 2015 from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Saturday, January 3, 2015 from 8 a.m. until services.
