Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 15, 2015 at a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Audrey T. Landry, 80, who died Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Kaplan Healthcare Center. She will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend Cedric Sonnier officiating the services.
Audrey was a great cook and passed this passion on to all of her children. She was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church and was once a member of its choir. She loved to exercise, dance, and listen to Cajun and French music. Audrey was happiest when spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all.
She is survived by her three sons, Jerry "J.J." Landry and his wife, Marion of Kaplan, Mark "Viper" Landry and his wife, Janell of Lafayette, and Glen Landry and his wife, Lisa of Lafayette; three daughters, Theresa, and her husband, Jed Duhon of Kaplan, Mary Catherine Marceaux of Kaplan, and Carla Landry of Baton Rouge; 14 grandchildren, Danielle and her husband, Caleb Rung, Amanda Landry, Brady Landry and his wife, Hilaree, Brett Landry, Eric Duhon and his wife, Michelle, Jamie and her husband, Matthew Jones, Dustin Duhon and his wife, Brooke, Jessica Duhon, Stacey Landry, Luke Landry, Tiffany Saltzman, Jonathan Saltzman, Andrew Saltzman, and Ben Marceaux; three great grandchildren, Taylor Simoneaux, Cullen Landry, and Naomi Rose Jones; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Jerry Landry; her parents, John Batiste Trahan and the former Lelia Seaux; one grandchild, Benjamin Trey Duhon; three brothers; and one sister.
The family would like to thank Louisiana Extended Care Hospital, Kaplan Healthcare Center, and St. Joseph's Hospice for their compassion and care during her illness.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 8 a.m. until services.
