He will be laid to rest at Leroy Cemetery with Deacon Tim Marcantel officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Carl Meaux, Kevin Soirez, Johnny Dean Meaux, Charles Meaux, Ben LeBlanc, and Josh Plendl.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Meaux; three sons, John Dean Meaux, Jr., Charles Robert Meaux and Johnny Dean Meaux; step-son, Jason Michael Haver; five daughters, Linda Marie Meaux, Eva Marie Addison, Jeania Ann Taylor, Monique Michelle Plendl and Jacqueline Marie LeBlanc; step-daughter, Jessica Lynn Lillie; brothers, Dudley Meaux, Leo Meaux, and Carl Ophe Meaux; sister, Joyce Guidry; step-sisters, Cathy Choate and Mary Broussard; and twenty-seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ophe Meaux, Sr. and the former Marie Roy; maternal grandparents, Clement Hebert and Eva Clement; paternal grandparents, Guilliaume Meaux and Felicia Meaux; son, Jonathan Glenn Meaux; brothers, Lovelace Soirez, Sr., Murphy Soirez, Willma "Jay" Soirez, Eustis Meaux, and William Meaux; granddaughter, Alexis Renee' Howell; and grandson, Drake Jonathan Trahan.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
