Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 4, 2008 at a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne Catholic Church honoring the life of Willie "Buster" Uriegas, Jr., 58, who died Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital.
He will be laid to rest at Immaculate Conception Cemetery with Reverend Randall Moreau officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Stefen LeMaire, Paul Stelly, Arthur Touchet, Alex Meaux, Michael Uriegas and Jerry Uriegas.
He is survived by one son, Willie "Pookie" Uriegas III and his wife Donna of Forked Island; two daughters, Danielle Uriegas and her fiance', Lonnie Abshire of Cow Island and Ashley Uriegas and her fiance', Stevens "T-Blue" Landry of Forked Island; six brothers, Jerry Uriegas of Abbeville, Ricky Uriegas of Forked Island, Johnny Uriegas of Kaplan, Daniel Uriegas of Moss Bluff, Michael Uriegas of Forked Island, and Max Uriegas of Crowley; six sisters, Mary Ann Cisneros of Kyle, Texas, Jo Ann Mendoza of San Marcos, Texas, Opal Meaux of Kaplan, Holly Albarado of Kyle, Texas, May Dora Touchet of Kaplan, and Ada LeMaire of Forked Island; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Uriegas, Sr. and the former Marlene M. Clakley; and one sister, Shirley Uriegas.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 from 9 a.m. until services on Thursday, December 4, a rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
