Kaplan—Funeral services will be held Friday, December 5, 2008 at a 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Garland Joseph Duhon, 52, who died Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at his residence.
He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Reverend David Broussard officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers were Beau Duhon, Kristoffer Harrington, Gary Harrington, Ronald Duhon, Joseph Livers III, and Todd Livers. Honorary pallbearers were Dalton Feverjean Jr., Randy Duhon, and Riley Landry.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Shelia Montet Duhon of Nunez; one son, Beau Duhon of Nunez; one daughter, Erin Duhon of Nunez; his mother, Hazel F. Broussard of Nunez; two brothers, Ronald Duhon and his wife Rita of Gueydan and Randy Duhon of New Iberia; three sisters, Claudean Duhon of Nunez, Renella Livers of Nunez, and Suzette Broussard of Kaplan; five nieces; and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Cloy Joseph Duhon; stepfather, Pershing Broussard; one nephew, Seth Melancon; maternal grandparents, Alexander Feverjean and Marguerite Gaspard; and paternal grandparents, Leonce Duhon and Edna Broussard.
