George Guidry

April 18, 1926 — January 6, 2009

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at a 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of George Guidry, 82, who died Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at his residence.
He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services.
Mr. Guidry was a 55 year member of the IBEW union #861. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. His other hobbies included gardening and working around his home.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Faulk Guidry; a son, Randy Guidry and wife Alana of Breaux Bridge; a daughter, Susan Guidry of Abbeville; a sister Delphine Menard of Nunez; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Ella leMaire Guidry.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to prayed at 7:00 p.m.. The family will reopen on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
